Dining & Private Events
The Saginaw Club offers both formal and casual dining for lunch and dinner. It also offers private rooms for dining and business meetings and can accommodate 200 people in its ballroom on the third floor.
The club is always available for member, or member sponsored business meetings or social parties for all those special occasions in guests' lives - birthdays, rehearsal dinners, weddings, graduations and anniversaries. The club's staff can tailor any event to guests' specific needs to make the occasion truly memorable. Menu packets and event information are available at the club office. The club is generally open for dinner before special downtown events such as Saginaw Choral Society performances and Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra concerts. These special evenings are always listed in the newsletter.
Generally, the first floor is casual attire. The second floor is business attire. For dinner, men wear sport coats and women wear appropriate pants, skirts, pantsuits or dresses. From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, the dress is casual on both floors.
Reserved for members and their guests only, usually on the second Wednesday of the month, the club presents the occasional cocktail and a guest speaker followed by dinner for the gentlemen. Stag Night is a popular event that has been going on forever. A truly magnificent way to join the mainstream of the Saginaw Club family.
The Dow Event Center and Temple Theatre
Members may enjoy a great meal at the club before their evening entertainment. The club is generally open for dinner before any choral society performance, symphony, concert or various other events that generate interest. These special evenings are always listed in the newsletter.
For the most part, these are longer term members and Saginaw Residents who have been friends and acquaintances for many years. Each month you could expect to join 20-30 others for an informal evening of dinner and conversation. (Usually gather on the 4th Thursday of the month.)
5 O’Clock Club
Assembling in the members bar daily around 5 p.m., it’s been rumored that occasionally a funny story surfaces, along with a dice box and a red or green chip. Some snacks are available and the only requirement here is a keen sense of humor. Do you really want to know what’s going on in Saginaw? This is the place to find out!
Members celebrate the start of the fall season at the club’s annual Open House. A delicious meal is followed by entertainment and dancing. This event usually takes place on the third Thursday of September.
Members give thanks during a wonderful dinner with family and friends in the warmth and ambiance of the club.
Christmas Dinner Dance
An exquisite array of hors d’oeuvres and a beautiful dinner are offered before members dance the night away to the sounds of the most popular groups in the area.
New Year’s Eve Dinner
Members reflect on the year that’s past and the year that’s beginning during a nice, quiet evening of great food and service. The club serves dinner from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with complimentary champagne.
New Year’s Day Toast to the Office of the President
The Saginaw Club annual tradition dates back to 1913. Every year, the club’s president has the honor of choosing a prominent member to offer a speech and toast that exemplify current issues of the day. A special dinner is served afterward for family and friends.
Easter Sunday Brunch
Indulge in a fantastic brunch buffet to celebrate the Easter holiday. This is a great way to share a special meal with the entire family.
The Annual Meeting is the forum to report on the club’s activities over the last year. It takes place every April and runs in conjunction with the annual election of club officers. All resident, junior and senior members are welcome to attend this event. Resident and senior members are encouraged to vote on this day to determine the new board members. A complimentary dinner is served after the meeting.
Mother’s Day Buffet
Mothers are treated like queens at this annual event, which always brings a full house. The club chef conjures a magnificent buffet featuring a glorious dessert table.
